Logistics of travel to UK at this time
It is good news that one does not have to have a SARS-CoV-2 virus test before departure. Also that one does not have to quarantine unless a test done 2 days after arrival is positive.
However there is a form that has to be filled in which requires one to report where one is going to be staying, a phone contact number, flight and seat number in coming flight and a record of having booked a day two virus test. Very time consuming. More time consuming when the on line form will not accept the Canadian post code.
The booking of the test at a cost of 69 GBP needs another form giving many of the same details.
It is all done and now as I wait at Montreal airport there is time to update the Blog.
Another Logistical issue is that it is much more economic to get a SIM card for ones phone while in the UK. This means another phone number but one does not know the number to fill in on the forms. I just put in the number of my sisters cell phone as I will be letting her know how to contact me while in the UK before I get to see her on day five.
Nowadays with all ones electronic devices - IPod, Ipad, IPhone, Apple watch that one travels with - one has to have all the different connections and adaptors for the UK plugs. Fortunately having spent time with family I have been able to get many answers to questions involving electronic devices answered.
It is now three hours till check in and six hours to take off time.
I shall listen to music and audiobooks on my old IPod!
Tremblant activities
It seems all three generations wanted to be as active as teenagers. Go Carting, Zip lining, Hiking, lounging, night light hike etc. The beautitiful fall colours can be seen in several of the photgraphs.
Tremblant
We managed to find a AirBnB near Tremblant for the seven of us to get together for four nights for thanksgiving and to visit nearby Tremblant (a 20 min drive). Tremblant reminds me of Whistler but also Queenstown in New Zealand - "the adventrure capital of the world". There are endless activities to keep those who still want to be teenagers (in all three generations!).I hiked up to get a view of the town while family members when on Luge rides and up the Gondola.
The town was very croweded particularly on Saturday. It seems like post COVID madness that has drawn a larger crowd than the town is used to.
The fall colours throught our four days have been magnificent. Firstly a lot of red on top of brown and then towards the end of the four days the bare trees showing through with the rapid leaf falling happening.
