Three days in Ottawa

What a joy to visit the family (daughter Sarah, son-in-law Martin, Isabelle (16), Madeleine (13)) having not been here for nearly four years. The granddaughters did visit us in BC three years ago. However it is good to be able to hug them again!  Of course with FaceTime we have talked at least weekly but that is not the same as being with two teenage granddaughters and hear how they occupy their very busy lives.

The WestJet flight via Calgary was uneventful. Penny was in a Premium seat with food and wine but I sat in cattle class. She enjoyed an aisle seat and the comfort.

The weather here in Ottawa is sunny - plenty of opportunity for walks.

I am learning from the granddaughters new things. In their high school every student has a laptop and a smart phone. Teachers are challenged to get their attention. They also have good old fashioned binders that  us older folk would be familiar with. I have been persuaded to use Spotify to get access to music that one likes - in my case classical and choral music.
